Twelve people have been nominated for an election to fill 3 councillor vacancies in the town of Stephenville. This after nearly half the council resigned recently for various reasons. Names on the ballot will include Darren Roberts, Darrell Shelley, Gerard Pomeroy, Geoff Benoit, Ken Penton, Maurice Hynes, Patrick Mercer, Paul Green, Paul Grenier, Ray Tompkins, Tom O’Brien and Trevor Murphy. The by-election will be held March 6th.

Speedy Glass Owner Nadine Margeson says since Red Bags started, around $30K has been raised for the Corner Brook area, $23K in Deer Lake and in Pasadena, last year about $9200 was raised, all of which went to local foodbanks.
