The cadets were sworn in on Monday as a follow up to the graduation event that occurred at the Atlantic Police Academy in Prince Edward Island just a few weeks ago.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has officially welcomed 17 new officers to the police service with a swearing-in ceremony. Officers took the oath of office in which they committed to “preserve the peace, prevent offences, faithfully, honestly and impartially discharge” their duties as a police officer. Cst James Cadigan says the next step is training at headquarters and there will be new officers coming to Corner Brook. The new constables will be assigned a coach officer and next month begin patrol as they start their careers.
