A huge boost for highway improvements.
$306 million dollars has been announced to expand the Trans Canada Highway by adding 2 divided highway sections. A 15 km section between Bishop’s Falls and Grand Falls-Windsor and a 40 km section beginning at Whitbourne and heading west. $20 million will be used to make a 15 km passing lane leaving Port aux Basques. These investments will help traffic flow and strengthen transportation connections.

Police looking for public help in finding 77-year-old Edward Hicks of Corner Brook
The 77-year-old is described as being 5’2” tall and bald. He was last seen wearing black pants, a short sleeved plaid shirt, tan shoes, and glasses.

Patti Ricketts is the Cruise Marketing Coordinator and says the idea for the day started as a project in 2024 and has since become an annual event with vendors, musicians, tours and cargo showcases.

Participants attend four half-day courses chosen from 28 options that include shotgun, rifle and archery; fly fishing, fly tying and towing a boat with a trailer; camping, outdoor cooking and hiking; and map and compass, navigation and orienteering skills.
