The NLWest SPCA is hosting an open house and BBQ this evening at the new shelter located at 15 Lundrigan Drive. It takes place from 5:30 to 7pm and everyone is welcome. NL West SPCA president Frances Drover says the idea of a new shelter started in 2008 and it’s been a long time coming, but they finally moved in last December. She says there’s a lot more space big at the new locations and conditions are better for everyone. Drover says they also have cameras to help with being able to see how the animals are doing while staff and volunteers are away. Tours of the facility will also take place this evening.
