Corner Brook RNC arrested a man for an assault on a woman yesterday and nabbed an impaired driver in Steady Brook last night. At 9 a.m. police were called to Gillams Road, Corner Brook. A 21 year old woman went to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was treated and released. A 26 year old man has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and property damage. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
At 11:15pm RNC officers were conducting routine patrols in the area of Marble Drive in Steady Brook. They conducted a traffic stop and noted the driver showed signs of impairment. Further checks were completed and it showed the driver, a 35 year old man from Ontario, had a suspended license. After providing breath samples, the man’s vehicle was seized and he was charged with impaired driving. He was also given a ticket for driving while suspended. He will appear in court at a later date.
