Police say the man was wearing a helmet but lost control of the ATV while attempting to turn around on the trail.
A man in his fifties is dead after his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crashed on the railbed in the community of St. George’s yesterday morning. RCMP say he was the lone occupant. It happened around 8:15am, and police, firefighters and local paramedics responded. The ATV left the trail and went down over an embankment. Police say the man was wearing a helmet but lost control of the ATV while attempting to turn around on the trail. He died at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged and the investigation is continuing.
