Government has launched a Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit that will achieve a basic income for Persons with Disabilities. The new initiative is a $26 million investment and will come into effect in July, 2025. This will mean up to $400 per month to persons with disabilities; and the $1,200 in the Registered Disability Savings Program (RDSP), which will begin in January 2025, for those that qualify.
