The House of Assembly Management Commission met yesterday and reviewed recommendations that included an increase in what MHA’s are paid. Heather Jacobs was appointed to develop a report, one she says public engagement was low. She says the current salaries MHA’s are being paid are not fair or reasonable and she recommends MHA’s get a $25,000 a year pay increase. Jacobs says all MHA’s included in this review requested an increase. Jacob’s report is titled, “How we Value Democracy,” and these raises would cost an extra million dollars a year.
