They want to construct a trailhead gateway and a 28-kilometre multi-use trail for walking and biking.

The Central Development Association has submitted an undertaking with the department of Environment and Climate Change. They want to construct a trailhead gateway and a 28-kilometre multi-use trail for walking and biking, as the first stage of the Great Coastal Trail development project. The proposed trail would begin in Parson’s Pond and end in Daniel’s Harbour, following a route between the coast and Route 430. Construction of the trail would include tree cutting, pruning, vegetation clearing and installing bridges. Construction of the gateway would include bike parking, information kiosks, and outdoor seating.  The undertaking was registered on January 4th, the deadline for public comment is February 8th and the minister’s decision is due by February 18th.
