A special weather statement with lots of rain in the forecast

    A total rainfall of 60 to 90 mm is expected with higher amounts possible. Areas affected include the south and west coasts, the Great Northern Peninsula, Deer Lake - Humber Valley, and Green Bay - White Bay.

    A special weather statement has been updated. Rain at times heavy Wednesday morning until Thursday evening.  A total rainfall of 60 to 90 mm is expected with higher amounts possible. Areas affected include the south and west coasts, the Great Northern Peninsula, Deer Lake - Humber Valley, and Green Bay - White Bay. There are still questions as  to how this disturbance, which is unrelated to Hurricane Franklin, will interact with the hurricane. Be sure storm drains and gutters are cleared of debris. Heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and pooling of water. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
