Part time instructors at Grenfell Campus and MUN have set midnight Sunday as a strike deadline. The Lecturers Union of Memorial University, or LUMUN, has been without a collective agreement for four years. Spokesperson Alison Coffin says they are meeting with MUN administration this afternoon. She says MUN’s latest offer is the same offer they received in 2021. One of the concerns of LUMUN is an Auditor General’s report that included an “Employee Service Award Dinner for employees and their guests. This was at a cost of $6,936, including alcohol” versus a Per Course Instructor’s salary, which is $5,000 – $5,875 for teaching an entire course.
