RCMP were called to a vehicle fire on the TCH near Corner Brook last night. Police say it happened around 7 o’clock and the vehicle was parked and on fire. No one was inside the vehicle when it caught on fire and there were no injuries.

Tip of a possible impaired driver
The RNC pulled him over around 2 p.m. on Tuesday after getting a tip of a possible impaired driver at a convenience store on First Avenue.
Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP and Traffic Services West took three vehicles off the road and laid charges during a traffic initiative late last week.
On April 9th just after 9 a.m., police tried to stop an off-road vehicle on the Main Road in Oregans. The operator was not wearing a helmet, refused to stop and fled from police at a high rate of speed. The next day, RCMP arrested a 19-year-old man in Millville.
At this week’s public meeting, Corner Brook city hall approved another change order for the Deep Gulch Culvert Replacement Project at a cost of over $91K.
This is the 26th change which brings the total of all the increases to more than $3M. Councllor Donna Luther asked if there is a limit to the number of change orders on projects.
