An armed robbery in Stephenville last night, police looking for suspect

    RCMP say the male suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height, a skinny build and was wearing a mask, a red and black checkered coat and a black hooded sweater. 

    Bay St. George RCMP is looking for help in solving an armed robbery that occurred last night at Hi-Ball Bar & Billiards on Carolina Avenue in Stephenville. Shortly before midnight, police received the report and attended the scene.  A masked man armed with a knife had entered the side door of the business near closing time and demanded money.  The sole employee handed over the cash drawer which was emptied by the suspect.  The suspect took the money and assaulted the employee before departing on foot.  The employee was not injured. RCMP say the male suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height, a skinny build and was wearing a mask, a red and black checkered coat and a black hooded sweater.
