This Saturday, August 12th has been designated as International Youth Day. Shawna Decker is the program coordinator for Communities Building Youth Futures for Corner Brook and the Bay of Islands. She says they are planning on having an outdoor youth vendor market on Saturday from 1-4pm at the Corner Brook City Hall Square. Decker says it’s important to recognize the contributions of youth. International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth.
