Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce says gabion baskets along the south shore highway have been there for 30 years and need to be replaced before someone is hurt. He says this is not a new issue. Joyce says motorists in the area often remove rocks that end up in the road. He says south shore Mayors have contacted the Department of Transportation for years about the issue yet baskets have not been replaced.
