Ria MacDonald says there have been issues with the RCMP in the past when the RNC has been called to assist since the RCMP didn’t have the officers or the ability to get there on time.

The Deputy Mayor of Lark Harbour is very excited to see the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary begin patrolling the south shore area. Ria MacDonald says there have been issues with the RCMP in the past when the RNC has been called to assist since the RCMP didn’t have the officers or the ability to get there on time. MacDonald says she was at the event in Pasadena when the Justice Minister announced the RNC would be expanding its jurisdiction to include Pasadena, Massey Drive, and both sides of the Bay of Islands. She says this will probably reduce drunk driving and the use of drugs in the area.
