    Bay Roberts RCMP arrest 13-year-old for flight from police and impaired operation

    A traffic stop was attempted but the youth fled from police and was seen passing other motorists on the roadway. 

    A 13 year old is facing a list of charges that include flight from police and dangerous driving, as well as, impaired operation. Bay Roberts RCMP the youth pulled up next to the patrol vehicle on Route 70 last week and sped off. A traffic stop was attempted but the youth fled from police and was seen passing other motorists on the roadway.  In the interest of public safety, police did not pursue the dirt bike. Moments later, the youth and dirtbike were located and the youth tested positive for cannabis during a roadside test. Charges are also pending against the parents for unsupervised operation.
