Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce says the group was founded by Abby Welshman of Mt. Moriah, which has held fundraisers for the Women’s shelter, the Mental Health Association and others.

Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce took time in the House of Assembly this week to congratulate and recognize the group, Better Tomorrow NL. Joyce says this group of young people in his district are showing leadership in their community. He says the group was founded by Abby Welshman of Mt. Moriah, which has held fundraisers for the Women’s shelter, the Mental Health Association and others. Joyce attended a  fundraiser in Mt. Moriah last month and the group donated a $250 check to Sole Hope, which is equivalent to 50 pairs of shoes! Sole Hope is a foundation of which Joyce, Justin and Genille French, and more volunteers travel to East Africa to help millions of individuals from the effects of jiggers, a type of parasite causing suffering. Parasites are removed and shoes are placed on their feet for protection.
