Motorists should scan both sides of the highway and avoiding driving at dusk and dawn when caribou are more active near roads.
Motorists are advised to be cautious when travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately five kilometres east of Route 480 at the Burgeo Highway turn-off. Caribou are currently active in this area and the likelihood of caribou-vehicle collisions may increase. Motorists should scan both sides of the highway and avoiding driving at dusk and dawn when caribou are more active near roads. Reduce speeds when in this area.
