RCMP say 19 year-old Desiree McGill of Ontario was caught by PSD Kane.

Police Service Dog Kane has nabbed a child abductor in Appleton. RCMP say 19 -year-old Desiree McGill of Ontario was caught by PSD Kane. Police say she fled from a residence with a child and entered a wooded area. RCMP got a call about the child abduction around 8:30 Friday night.  A track, picked up by PSD Kane, led police into a residential area where McGill and the child were located, hiding behind a structure. McGill has been charged with abduction of a child under the age of fourteen and is not allowed to be around anyone under the age of 16. Police do not believe the abduction was a random act.
