Corner Brook and Stephenville to become dementia-inclusive communities

    The Health Minister says it’s everyone’s responsibility to create a more inclusive community for those with dementia.

    Corner Brook and Stephenville are two of the eight communities chosen to take part in a  Dementia Friendly Communities Project.  The federal government announced $716,000 to support the implementation of Canada’s national dementia strategy, and raises awareness about dementia, with a focus on reducing stigma and encouraging dementia-inclusive communities. Health Minister Tom Osborne says dementia affects a lot of people and about 10,000 people are living with it in this province. The Health Minister says it’s everyone’s responsibility to create a more inclusive community for those with dementia.
