While engineers conduct a LIDAR scan of the landslide on Riverside Drive, the city has another landslide in Curling that also needs to be assessed. Both matters were discussed during this week’s public meeting. Deputy Mayor Linda Chaisson says on April 2nd, a resident reported a landslide on the Great Trail in the area of Georgetown Road. Upon investigation, a portion of the Georgetown Road embankment fell onto the Great Trail, blocking a drainage ditch and covering some of the trail itself. AllRock consulting has submitted a proposal to assess the embankment, drill a borehole to understand ground composition and provide remediation recommendations to reinstate the embankment. The cost of the assessment is over $20,000.
