Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s a program with Tourism Atlantic that recognizes tourism is a mixture of more than just the city.
Corner Brook city staff are reviewing 7 proposals to market and brand the Strategic Tourism for Areas or Regions or STAR initiative. The city issued a request for proposals for trail design and construction on the Man in the Mountain and Blow Me Down Hiking Trails last year. Funding would come from several sources with the City paying 10% of the total cost. The RFP closed without any bidders in December. Meanwhile, a RFP for design and assessment services closed on April 12th with seven submissions. Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s a program with Tourism Atlantic that recognizes tourism is a mixture of more than just the city.. He says it consists of two projects and one may be announced next week. Updated funding applications for STAR programs and trails have been submitted.
