The Mayor of Corner Brook says the city is spending twice as much to offer a transit service as when he first started a few years ago. Jim Parsons says transit is very difficult and it’s something the city has struggled with. He says a new problem is that transit becomes too busy at certain times of the day and people can’t get on the bus. Parsons says it means more investment is needed in transit and the city is looking at ways to do this. He says the city is also working with government in getting free bus passes for income support clients.
