    Derek Simmons says safety should be on every mind and people should check smoke detectors and other devices to make sure they’re working properly.

    Christmas is a time of warmth, be it from the joy one feels inside or the warmth of a glowing candle or fire. Derek Simmons is the Deputy Chief at the Corner Brook Fire Department. He says safety should be on every mind and people should check smoke detectors and other devices to make sure they’re working properly. Simmons says sources of heat should be kept free of decorations.
