Cst Derek Hayden says when the weather is bad, leave a little earlier to arrive safely.
The first day of winter isn’t until December 21st but Corner Brook and the west coast is getting a sample. Yesterday’s forecast called for everything from rain to freezing rain and wind. Cst Derek Hayden is with RCMP Traffic Services West. He says if you don't have to go out in nasty weather, then don’t. Hayden says seatbelts save lives and should be worn at all times. He says when the weather is bad, leave a little earlier to arrive safely. Hayden says it’s also a good idea to keep an emergency kit in your vehicle, a warm coat, snacks and water.
