More than $619,000 has been awarded for 40 accessible community projects that will help them support the well-being of residents. Municipalities, Inuit Community Governments, and Local Service Districts were eligible to apply for Accessible Communities Grants, which were announced in January. The grants provide funding at a 90/10 cost share with the community. All the approved projects assist in funding initiatives and small-scale infrastructure projects that specifically focus on building active, healthy, accessible communities. The Accessible Pathways program in Corner Brook is one of the grant recipients this year, as well as, accessible upgrades in Humber Arm South, and accessible upgrades to the municipal building in Meadows.
