Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says construction is up in the city and not just with big projects like the new hospital. He spoke at the NL Construction Association western meeting last week. Parsons says the event hosted double the number of attendees this year. He says construction in Corner Brook has been increasing over the past couple of years and the value of permits has doubled. Parsons says over the past decade, there has been a lot of apartment construction and this type of development is good for city sustainability. He says more people living downtown will mean more foot traffic for businesses.
