Corner Brook Mayor says 50 new housing units is exactly what the city needs

    Mayor Jim Parsons says there is a need for smaller apartments in this area.

    The Mayor of Corner Brook is pleased to hear 50 affordable housing units will be built in Corner Brook. Housing Minister Fred Hutton was in Corner Brook yesterday to announce the $20 million dollar project. Mayor Jim Parsons says affordable, provincially owned housing is exactly what the city needs since there is a need for smaller apartments in this area. Immigration, Population Growth and Skills Minister and MHA for Corner Brook, Gerry Byrne says vacant units on Crestview Avenue will be demolished. He says  this is being done without any help from the federal government. There are currently 635 housing units in Corner Brook.
