Corner Brook Pulp and Paper submits 5-year operating plan for Zone 6

    The plan describes proposed timber harvesting operations, construction of access roads and silviculture activities covering the period from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2028.

    Corner Brook Pulp and Paper has registered an undertaking with the Department of Environment. Corner Brook Pulp and Paper has submitted a proposal for a Five-year Operating Plan for Zone 6, which includes Forest Management Districts 14 and 15 in Western Newfoundland. Zone 6 extends from Burgeo to Port aux Basques in the south to the southern boundary of Gros Morne National Park in the north. The plan describes proposed timber harvesting operations, construction of access roads and silviculture activities covering the period from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2028. The undertaking was registered July 18th, public comments are due by August 24th, and the Environment Minister will make a decision on August 24th.
