A number of arrests made on Sunday
RNC officers responded to several calls for service over the weekend. At 2:15 Am on Sunday morning officers conducted an allegation of
domestic abuse. Just before 7 am officers located the 48 year old male suspect. He was placed
under arrest and held for a court appearance. He was charged with two counts of assault, one
count of assault by choking, and with breaching a Probation Order. The complainant suffered
minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
RNC officers were also made aware of an allegation involving
a breach of release order. At 1:20 PM on Sunday, RNC officers located the alleged
suspect. The 40 year old male was placed under arrest for breaching the no contact conditions
of his release order and was held for a court appearance .
Also on Sunday RNC officers in Corner Brook conducted a stop on a vehicle
bearing fictitious Alberta license plates. As a result of the investigation the male driver was
charged with impaired operation, and with exceeding the allowable limit of alcohol in his blood.
His vehicle was seized and he was charged with numerous offences under the Highway Traffic
Act and the Cannabis Control Act. He has a court date in October.
And finally on Sunday evening RNC officers in Corner Brook conducted a stop on a vehicle in the
area of the Lewi Parkway. As a result of the investigation the 44 year old female driver was
found to have a suspended license. The females vehicle was seized and she was issued a
Summary Offence Ticket for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. During the same
traffic stop a 43 year old female passenger in the vehicle was identified as having an
unendorsed warrant for her arrest. The woman was arrested and held to appear in court in the
following day.
