Total snowfall expected is locally 30 to 50 cm in snow squalls with higher amounts possible over higher terrain. Maximum wind gusts will be 80 to 110 km/h.

Corner Brook Transit will be pulling buses off routes at 1p.m due to  weather conditions. Travel will not be easy on the west coast today as persistent snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate. Total snowfall expected is locally 30 to 50 cm in snow squalls with higher amounts possible over higher terrain. Maximum wind gusts will be 80 to 110 km/h. This will continue into tomorrow evening. A prolonged period of blizzard like conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow. For most areas, flurries and snow squalls will become more extensive later today with strengthening westerly winds. Conditions expected to improve as the winds ease and shift to the north on Friday evening.
