Curling actor Rick Boland has passed away at age 70

    His cousin, Terry Boland, is a board member and volunteer here at Bayfm. He says Rick was much younger but was determined to make it as an actor from a young age.

    Seasoned actor Rick Boland has passed away at the age of 70. Originally from Curling in the Bay of Islands, Boland was prominent in the province’s theatre community with groups such as the Newfoundland Travelling Theatre Company and the Mummers Troupe collective. He was also a co-founder of Rising Tide Theatre. His cousin, Terry Boland, is a board member and volunteer here at Bayfm. He says Rick was much younger but was determined to make it as an actor from a young age. Rick Boland was also active within the NDP party in both provincial and federal campaigns.
