Deer Lake deals with $100,000 worth of damage during the holidays

    Councillor Brett Langdon posted on social media that for the second time in as many weeks a speeding, impaired driver ended up in the ditch.

    The town of Deer Lake had to repair close to $100,000 in damage done over the holidays. Councillor Brett Langdon posted on social media that for the second time in as many weeks a speeding, impaired driver ended up in the ditch. The post said a driver took out over $100,000 in critical town infrastructure, as well costing thousands in man hour wages. Mayor Mike Goosney says the RCMP are investigating after one of the town’s lift stations was hit. Goosney says the repairs had to be made immediately.
