It’s that time of year when you can find practically any baked good, whether at a Christmas social, while visiting, at work, and especially at home. The Community Mental Health Initiative (CMHI) is out with some tips for practicing a little will power over the holidays. Peter Parsons says it’s hard to not overindulge. Meanwhile, he says it can be totally different for some who feel they just don’t have enough. Food insecurity is a reality for some people and it can be more evident at this time of year. The CMHI’s Lydia Bennett says it can be stressful when thinking of everything that we think we need to buy. She says making small adjustments and being realistic with expectations can help manage stress. Be aware of the signs and make time to relax.
