A bit of a surprise for some Corner Brook motorists today. Elswick Road has traditionally been a shortcut to get to West Valley Road or O’Connell Drive. Today, there is a do not enter sign on one end and a no left turn sign at the other end of Elswick Road. Mayor Jim Parsons says there was an accident in the area last week and it’s been a dangerous area with a lot of traffic for some time. He says there was an accident in the area last week. Mayor Parsons says a lot of the traffic is due to the hospital. The Mayor says he’s not sure if this will be a long term solution but engineering is working to address the issue.
