The multi-course meal at Madison’s restaurant in Steady Brook this evening will  feature produce from several local farms and proceeds from the meal will go to the foodbank in Corner Brook.

Some local farmers have teamed up with a five star restaurant to create a unique and special dining experience that gives back to the community in a big way. It’s called “Feeding Fall” and was an idea of Adrian Reid of Joie de Vivre farm in Irishtown. He says the multi-course meal at Madison’s restaurant in Steady Brook this evening will  feature produce from several local farms. Wright’s farm in Pasadena has provided the carrots, and Birchbark Farm, also in Pasadena, provided the lettuce. D and D Farm and Abattoir in Cormack gave the lamb shoulder and another farm provided the honey.  The pumpkin Reid grew weighs in at 982 pounds and is white. It is artfully carved by artist Sampson Vassallo and will be on display at Marble Inn Resort.  Reid says all proceeds from the meal will go to the Foodbank in Corner Brook to help families in need. The meal costs $50 and tickets are available at Madison’s.
