Byrne says the end result that Wakeham disagrees with was a deal that saw NL and Conne River actually get for the first time s share of the surf clam quota that was always held by Nova Scotia.

On Tuesday, Bayfm news ran a story after getting a news release from PC Leader Tony Wakeham. He  said last week's extensive cabinet shuffle was a clear sign of widespread failure, fatigue, poor performance and non-confidence in the current government. Wakeham also criticized missed opportunities in Fisheries and Housing. Regarding Fisheries, he noted Gerry Byrne's past failures, including losing the surf clam quota from the Burin Peninsula and lack of progress on Joint Management. Byrne says Wakeham is wrong and just a mean politician with no character. Byrne says he has a duty to tell what really happened with the surf clam quota. He says he squashed the deal and the end result that Wakeham disagrees with was a deal that saw NL and Conne River actually get for the first time s share of the surf clam quota that was always held by Nova Scotia.
