There was a heated debate in the House of Assembly yesterday over rate increases at Marine Atlantic.
The Crown corporation will hike the cost by 4 percent next month with more increases expected this year. Premier Furey says he’s upset and disappointed at the decision by Marine Atlantic. He says he doesn’t understand how this rate increase can be justified. Premier Furey says they’ve made their position clear to the Federal government and will continue to fight them on this.
