Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says it’s a massive opportunity everywhere to find ways to improve the technology and one good example is a west coast company, Swiftsure Innovation.

Healthcare and innovations are needed as the world faces issues with providing the best up to date care. On Tuesday, government released the 2024-26 HealthTech and BioTech Ecosystem Action Plan. Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says it’s a massive opportunity everywhere to find ways to improve the technology and one good example is a west coast company, Swiftsure Innovation led by nurse Deanne McCarthy. Their inventions are helping ventilated patients with oral health care. Parsons says we can’t keep doing things the same way when it comes to health care and the best way to improve on that is through the implementation of technology. Key areas of focus for BioTech in this province include genomics and precision medicine applications.
