As part of Municipal Awareness Week, a group of grade 6 students won an essay competition by writing “What Corner Brook means to me.” The Mayor and Junior Council were selected and held their own public meeting on Monday. Mayor Jim Parsons told Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, there were  a lot of great essays. Parsons says recreation was another big topic. He says he learned a lot from the junior council who had a lot of questions. Grade one students also competed in a poster contest.
