Greenhouse gas emissions at lowest point since 1992

    Government is continuing to advance its Climate Action Plan.

    The most recent greenhouse gas emissions for 2021 are 8.3 megatonnes. This is a 13 percent decrease from the year before and the second lowest level of emissions since 1992.  Government is hoping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a further 615,000 tonnes by the year 2030.
