Humber United Church first opened its doors in 1956 and has seen generations gathering at 88 Clarence Street over the decades.
A final gathering and deconsecration ceremony was held at a 68 year old church in Corner Brook this past weekend.
Humber United Church first opened its doors in 1956 and has seen generations gathering at 88 Clarence Street over the decades. At Sunday’s service, Reverend Jocelyn welcomed the parishioners. The church is Reverend Oliver Dingwell’s home congregation and he led the gathering in prayer.
Reverend Simon serves in Deer Lake at St. Paul’s United Church and was there to perform the deconsecration of the church. Members of the church will now become part of the Corner Brook United Church.
