Islaview Foundation want young songwriters to create a song under the theme, "We are all in this together"

    Dan Bursey is a member of the board. He says they’ve helped over 100 families in the past 7 years by raising half a million dollars, mostly in western NL. 

    The Islaview Foundation is a not for profit group out of Deer Lake  that helps families of children who are being treated for critical illnesses.. Dan Bursey is a member of the board. He says they’ve helped over 100 families in the past 7 years by raising half a million dollars, mostly in western NL. 

    The foundation gets its’ name from a young girl named Isla Short who passed away  Bursey says she was able to bring joy to everyone she was around. He says they want to become more known and popular with a little more visibility province wide, so they are hosting a young songwriters contest. This is for 18 years and under to create a song that reflects the spirit of the Islaview Foundation under the theme, “We are all in this together.”

    May 23rd is Islaview Day, which is actually a holiday in the town of Deer Lake.
