The town's Economic Development officer, Gloria Field, says they’ve upped the ante this year and are hosting a webinar today dealing with opening a regulated daycare.

Small businesses make up about 98 percent of all the businesses in NL, meaning they have less than 100 employees. Small Business Week started October 20th and the town of Deer Lake has a couple of events planned. Gloria Field is the Economic Development officer in the town. Field says they’ve upped the ante this year and will host a webinar dealing with opening a regulated daycare today.  Field says there are currently only 7 spaces for regulated family childcare in the town and when it comes to making Deer Lake a great place to live, work and raise a family more childcare spaces are needed. She says they are also planning to have a networking coffee break tomorrow at the Holiday Inn.
