A 46-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving, flight from police, refusal to provide a breath sample and obstruction of justice.

Early yesterday morning RNC saw a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Balsam Street in St.John’s, which is a one-way road. It happened shortly before 3 a.m. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but the driver kept going  west on Livingstone Street toward the intersection with Carter’s Hill, where the vehicle stopped and the male driver exited, fleeing on foot. RNC located the 46-year-old man a short distance away from the vehicle. He has been charged with impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample, driving while prohibited, flight from police, and obstruction of justice.
