Elizabeth Sheppard is a Mi’kmaw singer songwriter, mother of two sons, and is from Corner Brook. She was a recent guest on Bayfm’s Scoffs and Scuffs. In October, Sheppard released a new song, titled “Mama” and as well, a new video to go with it. It was created by Centre City’s Stephen Green, who is with Fairgale and Brad Tuck, of Shanneyganock. The video is set in rural landscapes in November at Little Cove, just outside of St. John’s, and features a mother and daughter going through moments in life. Sheppard says it’s not her life story, but the song started from seeing the love between her parents. She says as a therapist, she’s seen many people who struggle with not loving themselves the way that they need to.
