The provincial government is doing more to entice health care professionals to come home to work.
In a news release today, Health Minister Tom Osborne increased the incentive for midwives and radiation therapists. Midwives from the province coming home to work for 3 years will be given a 50 thousand dollar bonus, while those not from the province will get 25 thousand. Radiation therapists with ties to this province will get 60 thousand dollars and those from away will receive 30 thousand. The Come Home Incentive was announced in January and to date, 79 people have accepted offers at a value of approximately $5.16 million.
