MUN's Lisa Breen says applicants don’t need straight A’s or international volunteering experience, but many prospective applicants are under that impression.
Memorial University wants more future doctors to enroll. The Faculty of Medicine is holding a public information session in St. John’s at 3 o’clock to try and attract more students. Admissions officer Lisa Breen says there are a lot of myths around becoming a doctor. She says while it is challenging to get into medical school, it is not as hard as many people think. Breen says applicants don’t need straight A’s or international volunteering experience, but many prospective applicants are under that impression. She hopes the talk will break down barriers.
