The provincial government has a wide array of services, programs and more but sometimes it’s hard to find out who to talk to and people need help navigating the system. Budget 2024 allocated half a million dollars for business navigators and this week, a new program was launched to help businesses deal with government. Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says identifying unnecessary regulations and red tape will help determine what can be done to ensure a more efficient regulatory environment. He says he had one requirement that at least one of the three positions was outside of the Avalon area. Business navigators are located in Corner Brook, Clarenville and St. John’s. Parsons says the Business Navigators Program also helps to get people in touch with boards of trades, chambers of commerce, and access business resources. He says it can be tough dealing with government. Business owners can access an online portal at gov.nl.ca.
